Lyon & Healy 1904 Catalogue - update

My 1904 Lyon & Healy 1904 catalogue arrived today. Whist my primary interest is harps, I'm surprised by the broad range of instruments which were on offer (more on that in the future). As I stated in my earlier blog, L&H made and sold single- (Style 11) and double-action (Style 22) harps - no surprises there. What has surprised me are that the few harp accessories on offer include 1829 Erard string gauges, costing $5 - whether these were supplied by Erard's French business to the American maker or whether they were picked up from the sale of Erard's London business a decade before I cannot say. It does suggest that they were still useful - presumably there were enough Erard owners in America to make their sale worthwhile.
